Week 33: The Final Frontier

Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise

Howdy crew, let's get you caught up to speed.

*It was at this point in writing that the hammock I was sitting in fell, and me along with it* (ouch)

Basically we left Elder Duarte and Ramo Aeroporto behind and came to Ala Cidade Satélite on the other side of Teresina. I'm comps with Elder Correa, 20 years olds from the Counrtyside of São Paulo. He'll turn 21 years old and 1 year old on the mission this week.

How to describe this area? Hills. Lots of Hills. Also they did a space theming with the street names in this barrio. We have 8 planets (- Earth, + Pluto (yes Pluto is a planet)), Apollo XI, and some others I'm still trying to translate the meaning. So send in some quotes from Space movies

How to describe the members here? Not all that happy.

Basically from the way the records were left and from what members and the ZLs told me, the missionaries in this area have been metaphorical and literally been sleeping through their missions.... Yikes

Also Bishop himself told us the ward itself is unorganized, much like our systems. So this week was more organizing on our part and the part of the ward. Seeing who in the area book is progressing (not many) and recording basic information (address, names, phone number). Hopefully we have all the gears in place, and it's time to make them spin.

I don't usually do this, but for the spiritual thought this week, I'd like to ask you guy to pray for the following people. Prayer, along with song, is the universally form of worship. In our public church meetings, it is a way we place God and His Son at the open and the finish of our faith. At our bedsides, it is the Psalm of our soul, brought from low voices to The Highest of Trones. In the streets, its where missionaries in pairs across the world, are learning how to help people.

- Rafael Duarte
- Gilson Guades
- Elder Correa (I'm gonna be asking a lot of this guy)

Elder Pinkney (you can pray for him too if you'd like)
