Week Two: Volleyball Champs

My dear friends,

We have gotten into the rhythm here at the MTC! There been two cohorts of missionaries that have come since mine arrived which basically means we're old ones here. But days are blending together for sure.

For the last couple of physical activities we've been with another district that flew in with us and our volleyball games are getting a little competitive, which has been a blast. Just fun to get some energy out and to get to know my district a little better, plus who doesn't like winning.

Highlight from my last email would probably be priesthood blessings. A lot of folks in our district were feeling a little down trottened about learning the language, homesick, etc. So, we decided to give each other preisthood blessing which was amazing! For a lot of the Elders it was their first time but they did an incredible job and the spirit was so strong afterwards! Literally none of us wanted to leave the room when the last blessing was finished.

One scripture that's been repeatedly coming up as a favorite between Elder Bohman and I is Alma 7:12 which talks about the Savior taking upon Him our pains so that he might know how to succor his people according to the flesh. My faith in Jesus Christ includes having faith that He literally has felt every pain I have, or will have (and many pains that I will never have to face.) He does so, that when we turn to Him in prayer He can honestly say that He knows our pains, our struggles, that He's been through it and will be with us as we go through it.

Te amo!
Elder Pinkney
