This week was an eventful one! We had Zone Conference, Zone P-day, and Divisions which basically meant I only had like 4 days this week working in Araçagi (my area). But it was a good change of pace.
Zone Conference and P-day were both so helpful. It was great talking with some of the other Elders who arrived with me about their experiences, getting some more training (maybe 50% of which was actually understood), and eating some good food.
The day after I did divisions with Elder Stowell, which was excellent! We had lunch with a member who has been a member for about 40 years, which is basically how old the church is around here. Her testimony was so powerful, it was like a shot of straight spirit.
I love the faith of people on the mission, especially converts. I was talking casually with an Elder, who's a convert, about what his post mission plans were and his first response was “baptize the rest of my family”. We'll be walking past one of our new convert’s, Francilene, house and she'll be studying the Book of Mormon on her couch. It's just cool to see people getting it, and finding joy in the gospel.
“My counsel to the members of the Church is to wrap our arms around these precious, elect people who have accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ.” -Elder Cook Oct. 2025
