Week Seven: Life Goes On and On and Onion
My dear friends,
Another week has rolled by here in São Luís, as has the work. We had divisions this week which was actually super helpful. I got to work with Elder Zabpriske, who is both American and a seasoned missionary. This means that I actually got helpful training that I could confidently understand.
Some other fun things:
- Hit 2 months (Pizza Night)
- Ate some new food (Açaí juice + somekind of grain)
- Saw Irmão Nascimento from the MTC
- Elder Batista is a little sick (not fun but means we get to go inside the air conditioned pharmacy
- Tried to teach some kids how to conduct music (they were more interested in waving around my pen)
I am excited to watch General Conference this week (in English this time), but from what I understood and felt, it was powerful as usual. I did get to listen to the Sat. Evening Session in English and liked the general theme of focusing on people, and making sure everyone is included. What is most prevalent in Christ ministry is His love for others. His mortal ministry concluded with the greatest sacrifice (for others) known to man. I hope that in both your and my 'ministry', we can be evermore focused on the people to whom we minister. All are, after all, unique, fascinating, and of eternal potential.

Elder Pinkney
