Week 16 The Old Pine Trees

 My Dear Friends,

The answer has been revealed to that question which has huddled in the back of mind this transfer. It is, "Where will I be spending Christmas this year?". With transfers this past week, I learned I'm staying here in Pinheiros, with those good old Pine Trees this Christmas. Nice bit of poetry there, but the sun reminds us of reality.

But while my area hasn't changed, I am getting a new companion, Elder Lopez. He arrived with me and we were buddies in the airport, so I'm excited. But I haven't actually done anywork with him yet, so more on him next week.

This last week was pretty routine though. Good amount of houses that we can't find, looking for people that don't exist, with a little spice of sucess here and there, just enough to keep us going. Did another fun two new Americano division that went better this time, which was a nice confidence boost.

The stars alined that this week I got to read the prophecy of Samuel, The Lamanite in the Book of Mormon. Right on theme for Christmas.

"Behold, I give unto you a sign; for five years more cometh, and behold, then cometh the Son of God to redeem all those who shall believe on his name."

"And behold, there shall a new star arise, such an one as ye never have beheld;"

Christ is the light of the world,. The stars and signs that testified of His birth, saved the life of faithful Nephites, and guided the Wise men to The King of Kings.

And wise men still seek Him.
Elder Pinkney
