Week 17 Double or Nothing

Dear Friends,

We are the blind leading the blind here in Pinheiros right now, but working with Elder Lopez felt like a new birth. I honestly couldn't be more grateful for him. He has such a pure heart, and is a "how about one more contact" kinda of missionary, which is what this area needs.

Not seeing a ton of fruit for our effort but it's only the first week of the transfer. And we are so close to batismo with our friend Jérson. He made a step of giving up coffee this week, which I don't think was actually hard for him because he said we doesn't even like it (don't know why he was drinking it). All that to say, I'm staying greatful for the progress he's made.

I poorly gave this as a lunch lesson this week, so I'm gonna try again in English. The Church recently released a video of kids re-enacting the nativity story, with clips of the actual nativity story spliced in-between. During the Christmas season, we have the joy of remembering, of bridging the gap in time from our mortal lives and that of Our Savior. We do this in our personal studies, with our families, and in our churches. A powerful tool for doing this are our covenants. Covenants are that yoke, that link us to the Savior, and bring the peace of that silent night in Bethlehem and the love of Gethsemane into our lives today.

Stay Merry,
Elder Pinkney
