Week 27 Lights, Camera, Action
Welcome back to the Elder Pinkney show, I'm your host, Elder Pinkney and we're glad to have you with us here tonight. You guys are getting double prizes this week because I forgot to send last weeks email, lucky you.
This week we had Zone Conference, which is always a pleasure. This time round was special because we celebrated my birthday! Yippee! Of the 40 some missionaries somehow the cake that was "mine" had like half of it left when all was said and done so yeah, you better believe I ate the rest of it.
Don't worry Mom, I'm not fatting up. This week we basically walked all four corners of our area and a lot of the streets in-between. Not only did we walk and have Zone Conference, we worked too! It's really weird though because it feels like everyone is named Francisca. Literally knocked on a door and started teaching a couple, Francisca and Francisco.
This week I listened to Elder Kearon's Recieveth His Gift General Conference talk Which says the following related to gifts. "[When gifts are] left unaccepted, unopened, and unreceived, what a terrible loss for us! What a sadness for the Giver! “For what doth it profit a man if a gift is bestowed upon him, and he receive not the gift? Behold, he rejoices not in that which is given unto him, neither rejoices in him who is the giver of the gift.”
Jesus Christ is the perfect gift from The Father, and His Atonement is a matchless gift given to us. If these truths are left only as words and not transformed into testimony, what doth it profit us? What doth it profit Him? The gift is given, sitting on the table in front of us. To not actively, daily partake in the gift of the Atonement of Jesus Christ is losing out on blessings already given.
Thanks for watching,
Elder Pinkney
