Week 28 Whirlwinds

 Hey gang!

This week was the last of the transfer to be plain and simple kinda sucked. We had a baptism fall through in the first half of the week which always puts a damper on spirits, and then the rest of the week was working to leave the area in a good position for next transfer.

Unfortunately Thursday, Friday, and Saturday practically all of our friends weren't home and/or weren't answering their phones. We did have a pretty cool lesson with a part-member family, where our friend, William, asked a lot of questions, and some really good questions. Like questions straight out of PMG. We gave him some answers, and taught him how to get more.

But in short, unfortunately I'm not leaving the area with tons of people ready to be baptized. Fortunately, I'm not leaving the area, so still will have the opportunity. My new companion is Elder E. Duarte who I just met while writing this email. A very lively Capoverdeano, wish me luck understanding Creole.

But a quick little spiritual thought. Had the opportunity to give the sacrament in home to one of our recent converts this week with an prospective Elder before doing some other visits. For me, bringing the sacrament to someone who physical can't leave the house is always a sacred experience, and it certainly was this time. We went with a future Elder from the Branch who gave simple and solemn testimony of the sacrament, and sacrifice that it represents.

With the start of March, Easter comes closer into view. I invite you today to, like Moroni "Remember that thou (The Lord) hast said that thou hast loved the world, even unto the laying down of thy life for the world". To accept more openly and more deeply that gift of His life. And to start now.
