Week 58: Garden Party
Fala meu povo,
Things are going swimmingly here in Horto! To start off, we had zone conference on Monday, which is always a big win. We talked about invites and ate cake. Big win.
The rest of the week focused on Cauã, a seventeen year old. Cauã is a success story, not just because he was baptized recently, but because it came after a long period of "drought" in Horto. And this week, he turned into a little missionary. He's usually pretty shy (like he doesn't talk at all), so it was cool to see him feel comfortable introduce us to his friends, and for him to share testimony with them.
Last cool story, we were eating lunch with a member family and began talking about how they could share the gospel. The whole time the Dad just sat there thinking. At the end, he invites us to his work to talk about the Book of Mormon with his employees!... kinda
He is the general manager (or something) of the temple site here in Teresina! There's about 400 folks on site each day, and 4 of them are members. Him, two service missionaries and a random dude from Salvador (the missionary prospect is crazy). They always start meeting of with a prayer and to celebrate birthdays, they started to give away Books of Mormon! So on Sunday (during the week tour), we went to help members visiting the site write their testimonies and mark a scripture in these books! Super cool idea from a member, of course we're gonna support! (and participate in the temple tour). Got to see some sneak peak pictures too (but I can't release them to the public, so sad too bad)
See you all next week!
May you live until you die!
Elder Pinkney
